About Marcey Jastrab, MSLS
Medical Librarian
Marcey’s path to Medical Librarian at MSOM began at age 15 with her first job as a Page in the local public library. After earning her BA in Zoology/Archaeology from The University of Maryland and a certification in Secondary Education/Biology from Hood College, she finally realized that libraries were her passion and earned a Master of Science In Library Science from Clarion University. Before joining MSOM’s Library, Marcey was the STEM, Instruction, and Assessment Librarian at McDaniel College, a Digital Librarian at NIH’s National Library of Medicine, and a Digital Archivist for the Library Services at the Government Publishing Office. Marcey’s favorite part of being a librarian is working with students.
Marcey lives locally with her husband, a number of special needs cats, and a varying number of medical fosters cats. She also likes to study historical arts and can often be found blacksmithing, handmaking brooms, or carving and printing linoleum blocks. She also likes to putter in her garden and grow delicious food.
