About David Runyon, MLIS, MS

Director of Library Services

David Runyon

David Runyon serves as the Director of Library Services at Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine, coordinating information resources and library services to support the academic and research work of students, faculty, and Meritus Medical Center providers.

He joined Meritus at the end of 2024, following his tenure as University Librarian at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. At Harrisburg University, he was the co-designer and co-facilitator of the game-based course Simulating Global Crises, a general education course which offered students the opportunity to integrate soft skills with critical thinking skills while developing greater global awareness.

With a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science in Counseling (College Student Personnel) from Shippensburg University, he brings a well-rounded perspective to academic support services. He also holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from LeTourneau University. Beyond his professional work, his interests include making and playing games, building with Lego, science fiction, and reading.
