About Berenice Aboyte-Vargas, B.S.
Academic Support Assistant
Berenice is an Academic Support Assistant in the Biomedical Sciences Department at the Meritus School of Osteopathic Medicine. In this role, she provides administrative and academic support to both faculty and students, contributing to the smooth coordination of departmental activities and the success of the academic program.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, which complements her strengths in organization, communication, and operational efficiency. Prior to joining Meritus, Berenice worked in the Office of Student Affairs and the Office of Admissions at California Health Sciences University College of Osteopathic Medicine. These experiences gave her a strong foundation in student services and medical education administration.
With a professional background rooted in both academic and student affairs, Berenice is dedicated to supporting future physicians and enhancing the medical school experience.
Berenice's recent accomplishments include participating in the 2024 U.S. Army Educators Tour, where she gained insight into the Health Professions Scholarship Program (HPSP) and observed military residency training at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington. She also earned a Spanish Translation Certificate from California State University, Fresno in 2023, and was awarded the California State Seal of Biliteracy in 2018, recognizing her proficiency in multiple languages.
Originally from California, Berenice relocated to Maryland with her husband and their dog, Chispita, to begin this new chapter both personally and professionally.
